New Delhi: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has announced its candidature for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The NCP has released the list of its candidates for the first phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections in 2024. This information has been given by Brijmohan Srivastava, Nationalist Congress Party's National General Secretary and in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir. Srivastava said that the party's parliamentary board has approved the names of 3 candidates to contest the elections in the Pulwama district.
BJP and NCP will face each other in Jammu and Kashmir
Shrivastava said that Mohammad Yusuf Hajam has been fielded from Tral, Ishtiaq Ahmed Sheikh from Pulwama, and Arun Kumar Raina from Rajpura. He said that all these candidates will contest the election on the clock symbol as official candidates of the Nationalist Congress Party. Let us tell you that the Nationalist Congress Party is contesting elections in Jammu and Kashmir for the first time. The party is contesting this election without allying with any other party. That is, BJP and NCP, which are running the government together in Maharashtra, will be seen competing against each other in Jammu and Kashmir.
Assembly elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir in 3 phases

Under this, voting is to be held in a total of 24 assembly constituencies in the first phase on 18 September. The party said that the names of candidates for other phases and other related information will be released soon.
