Airtel, Jio and Vodafone Idea have joined hands to provide seamless connectivity in areas affected by Cyclone Dana. All three private telecom companies have opened intra-circle roaming service, which will allow users to make calls using any telecom operator's network. This cyclone is going to affect the coastal areas of West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh as well as the North-East states including Bihar, Jharkhand and Telangana. Winds with speeds ranging from 100 kmph to 120 kmph and heavy rains are expected.

Jio made preparations

Reliance Jio has enabled ICR i.e. intra-circle roaming service for cyclone-affected areas. For this, Jio has joined hands with Airtel, Vodafone-Idea, and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited. During an emergency, Jio users will be able to avail the facility of calling using the signal of any telecom operator. Apart from this, Jio has installed backup power in these areas, so that the mobile network continues to work smoothly.

Airtel backup plan

Airtel has also set up a 24x7 war room for seamless connectivity in the storm-affected areas, in which an additional backup system has been prepared for the network. Airtel has also enabled ICR i.e. intra-circle roaming so that users can continue to get mobile connectivity during emergencies. Airtel users will also be able to stay connected with their family members in an emergency by using the network of any other telecom operator.

Vi also joined hands.

Like Airtel and Jio, Vi (Vodafone Idea) has also started the facility of ICR i.e. intra-circle roaming in cyclone-affected areas. Also, a 24x7 war room has been prepared, which will provide additional power backup and network connectivity in the affected area.
