The dates for the Maharashtra assembly elections have been announced. Elections will be held in Maharashtra in one phase. Given the assembly elections, voting will be held on November 20 and counting of votes will be done on November 23. Regarding this, now Samajwadi Party's Mumbai and Maharashtra president Abu Azmi has advised the constituent parties of the Maha Vikas Aghadi and their leaders i.e. Congress, Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar. He has said that the list of candidates should not be released without discussing it with him. If this is done then the Samajwadi Party will exit the Maha Vikas Aghadi.

What did Abu Azmi say

Abu Azmi said that the leaders of MVA should not insult the Samajwadi Party in their alliance. Till now many meetings of MVA have been held but they were called in only one meeting and discussion was held for only 5 minutes. Samajwadi Party is the third largest party in the country, it should not be taken lightly. He said that if the Samajwadi Party is not taken into confidence and not given proper share, then Samajwadi Party will contest elections with any other alliance i.e. Third Front or Prakash Ambedkar, or alone on more than 2 dozen seats in Maharashtra, and then if there is a division of Muslim votes, then not Samajwadi Party but Mahavikas Aghadi will be responsible for it.

Abu Azmi threatened to contest the elections alone.

Abu Azmi further said that the Samajwadi Party has demanded 12 seats from MVA in Maharashtra. Samajwadi Party has completed preparations for five seats. While talking to India TV, Abu Azmi also named these 5 seats. He said that the Samajwadi Party has made preparations for Mankhurd Shivajinagar Govandi, Bhiwandi East, Bhiwandi West, Malegaon, and Dhule seats. Apart from this, there are a total of 12 Muslim-dominated seats in Mumbai, Anushakti Nagar seat, Versova, Aurangabad East, Balapur, and Byculla, which Samajwadi Party has demanded from Mahavikas Aghadi. Abu Azmi said that Akhilesh Yadav will come on a two-day tour of Maharashtra on 18 and 19 October. He will visit Malegaon and Dhule. If the Samajwadi Party is not given seats or no consent is given, then after discussing with Akhilesh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party will start preparations to contest elections separately.
