Abhishek Manu Singhvi : Congress leader and senior lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi will contest the Rajya Sabha elections from Telangana. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has declared him as the candidate for the Rajya Sabha by-election. This seat was vacant after the resignation of former BRS leader Keshav Rao from the Rajya Sabha. Let us tell you, that voting for the Rajya Sabha elections will be held on September 3.

Earlier, Congress had nominated Abhishek Manu Singhvi for Rajya Sabha elections from Himachal Pradesh. However, he lost the election due to the rebellion of six Congress MLAs, after which Harsh Mahajan of BJP was elected to Rajya Sabha. Let us tell you, Rajya Sabha elections are to be held on 3 September for 12 seats in 9 states including Telangana.

Elections will be held for 12 seats

Let us tell you, that elections are to be held on 3 September for 12 seats of the Rajya Sabha. The Election Commission has also issued a notification regarding this. According to the Election Commission, elections are to be held on two seats each in Assam, Bihar, and Maharashtra and one seat each in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tripura, Telangana, and Odisha. Out of 12 seats, 10 have fallen vacant due to the current members being elected to the Lok Sabha, while on two seats the current candidates had resigned from the Rajya Sabha.
