Xiaomi 15 Ultra Launched in China with Leica-Tuned Cameras
After launching the basic and Pro models of the Xiaomi 15 series, Chinese electronics brand Xiaomi has now released Xiaomi 15 Ultra, further expanding their flagship series in their home market. Together with German lens manufacturer Leica, they developed a camera system that includes a primary sensor rated at 50MP, a periscope telephoto camera with capability of 200MP, and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Chip.
The rest of the Xiaomi 15 series is expected to be launched together with the Ultra model in more regions during a global event in Barcelona on March 2.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra: Details
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra has three color options: Black, White, and a special Silver Chrome Edition. It features a CNC crafted aluminum frame with Xiaomi's Shield Glass 2.0 to better resist drops. The design is reminiscent of classic professional cameras, incorporating aerospace grade glass fibre and a PU leather finish in the Silver Chrome Edition.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra has a Qualcomm Snapdragon eight Elite chip with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. In addition, it has a 6.73-inch AMOLED display which has a resolution of 3200x1440, a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 3200 nits. On top of everything, the smartphone has a 6000mAh battery and is capable of supporting 90W wired charging as well as 80W wireless charging.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra has a quad-camera setup that is paired with Leica lenses. It has a primary 50MP Sony LYT-900 sensor which has a fixed f/1.63 aperture, A 50MP ultra-wide Samsung JN5 sensor, and dual telephoto cameras. One is a 50MP sensor that has 3x zoom and the other is a 200MP Samsung HP9 periscope that has 4.3x optical zoom. On the front, there is a 32MP camera that also supports 4K video recording at 60fps. The Sony and periscope camera can go up to 120fps.
