Rajnath Singh Urges Centre & States to Ensure Quality Education

Hyderabad:“It is a unified responsibility of both the Centre and the states to guarantee that the next generation is well educated and is not only ready for the future but also ready for the world,” Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was quoted saying on Friday. This remark was made during the National Science Day celebrations hosted by DRDO and others in here ‘Vigyan Vaibhav – 2025’.

According to Singh, the New Education Policy, NEP has made efforts to transform the education system by adding components like field work, practicals and even research as steps towards progress. This is the line with which Swami Vivekananda had said… the very essence of education is the concentration of mind, not of collecting facts,” he said.

“Education, as I’m sure you know, is a concurrent subject under the Indian Constitution. It incorporates both the central and state government. Hence, it is the joint responsibility of the Centre and states that no child is left without good education.”

He stated that raising our younger generations as future and globally competitive citizens is a task that has to be done collectively, at a national level and nothing short of that. Singh elaborated: The National Science Day is one of those events which celebrates the success of the scientists but also inspires the youngsters to innovate and do something for the country’s advancement. 

Moreover, he noted that after independence, India was a slow growth economy, and it was clear that science was the means to attain the economic development needed to sustain the self generating economy and industry, as well as agriculture. Singh, however, noted that science applied led to self sufficiency in agricultural production in India.
