On Saturday, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav had some harsh words for the BJP-led NDA government in his state, arguing that, similar to how vehicles older than fifteen years are banned in Bihar for pollution purposes, it is now time to change the regime that has lasted for over two decades.

According to him, the government of the state has now become an extra weight for the people of Bihar to carry.

Yadav’s comments follow Kumar’s recent comments where he pointed out that the NDA government established twenty years ago in the state, headed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar now resembles an old and rusty automobile. With regard to the ban on smoke emitting vehicles, it is illegal to operate any vehicle that exceeds fifteen years since registration due to reckless pollution and public health complications.

So, why should the people of Bihar have to live under such a weight? This government has become a burden on the people of Bihar, it must be changed, said Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the assembly, in a written post on the social platform X.

Yadav accused the Nitish Kumar government of converting the state into a toxic wasteland during his incomprehensible two decade rule filled with poverty, unemployment, corruption, crime, and mass exodus.

The manipulative Nitish-BJP rule has destroyed the lives of two generations in the span of twenty years. Through Kumar’s post, he stated that ‘The youth of Bihar are determined to get rid of this sick, dilapidated, and erractic government and bring in a new government that possesses new thinking, vision, zeal, and is truly dedicated to providing jobs and building a developed Bihar.’

The JD(U) supremo and Kumar split with the BJP in 2013, only to reunite with them four years later post sharing power with RJD from 2015 to 2017. He once again sided with the RJD in 2022. However, Kumar was back in NDA last year.
