Mayawati removes nephew Akash Anand from the post of national general secretary

 |

On Sunday, BSP supremo Mayawati sprung into action which has undone any facade of unity within the BSP party. She has now actively removed Akash Anand from his ‘heir’ claims and positions of National Coordinator and National General Secretary and as a result, Akash Anand will no longer hold any position in the BSP. In addition, she has brought on board her brother, Anand Kumar, as the National Coordinator of the party.\n\nShe claims that as long as she is alive, no one from her family will be given the opportunity to succeed her and she has now undone those arrangements for Akash Anand. While Mayawati made clear these changes in s public address in front of BSP workers in Lucknow, her nephew Akash Anand is currently MIA. Instead of the customary two chairs on the stage, she made the move to take it down to one to signfity her new back to one level of dissatisfaction.

With such directionless ideas, it’s hard to believe she is the head of an entire party. The meeting had started at 11 am and all senior officials & state presidents from her party were invited. And from such a statement, it becomes abundantly clear that this is a woman who really believes her own publicity – that BSP is the only party that cares about Dalits and the depressed.

Anand Kumar has been designated as the national coordinator of the party by Mayawati. Now, Mayawati has also expanded the work of Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Gautam and he will now function as a national coordinator. Not long ago, Mayawati had relieved Akash Anand’s father in law Ashok Siddharth from his responsibilities. While addressing a meeting, the party leader explained regarding her succession and noted I will not have a successor till I live. Mayawati further said that now her brother Anand’s children are also prohibited from marrying into politically active families.

In the press release issued from Mayawati’s end, she stated that. Not only this, I have now myself taken the decision that till my last breath, I will not have any successor in the party. This decision was welcomed by the party people to a greater extent. In the press release it was said that the BSP Chief has said today again, For me, the party and the movement is primary. Brothers and sisters, their children, and other relatives etc., come afterwards. In this context, she has also assured the party people that to the extent I am alive, till my last breath, I will make all possible effort to take the party forward with my full honesty and loyalty.
