No Coaching, No Huge Expenses: Meet the IAS Officer Who Studied 16 Hours a Day
The examination of civil services which is conducted by The Union Public Service Commission is considered to be one of the most difficult competitive exams in India. This exam is held every year to select suitable candidates for the posts of IAS, IPS, IFS, and other various roles. Many candidates try to get through this challenging exam, but very few are able to pass with a single attempt.
The following passage focuses on the motivational life of IAS Vandana Meena. Born in the small village of Toksi, Rajasthan, she was always fond of studying. After living there for a few years, she shifted to Delhi with her family.
As per the report released by News18 Hindi, Vandana Meena is the daughter of Mr. Prithviraj Meena who is currently serving at Delhi Police and her mother Sampati Devi is a housewife.
Regarding her educational background, IAS Vandana Meena did her primary education from Gyan Rashmi Senior Secondary School located at Gangapur City, Sawai Madhopur. Post that, she relocated to Delhi and attended St. Culomba’s School. Following that, she did her graduation in Mathematics Honours from Acharya Narendra Jain College under Delhi University. She was the first IAS from both her schools.
IAS Vandana Meena always says that there are no shortcuts to success. When it came to her UPSC preparation, Vandana used to spend 15-16 hours studying for the exam. Even during normal days, she followed a timetable that allowed her to study for around 10 hours. Her determination and consistent efforts paid off, and she received top grades throughout school and college.
In the 2021 UPSC exam, IAS Vandana Meena received a score that awarded her an All India Rank (AIR) of 331. After the results were revealed, Vandana went to both of her schools to receive a grand reception. She is well known as the first IAS officer from her village.
