Kia, JSW MG Motor Report Sales Growth in Feb; Tata Motors Sees 8% Decline

Kia India has reported a total sales increase of 23.8 per cent with 25,026 units sold in February, compared to 20,200 units sold in the same month last year.

SUV Seltos and SONET recorded sales of 6,446 and 7,598 units respectively. The MPV Carens sold 5,318 units, whereas the Carnival Limousine had 239 units sold last month, it said.

Additionally, the newly unveiled compact SUV Syros had over 20,000 bookings, Kia India reported. This also includes 5425 units sold in February.

Kia India Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing, Hardeep Singh Brar said, “Kia India continues to respond to market demand with agility and precision. With a diverse and evolving product lineup, Kia India is a key player in the market.”

JSW MG Motor India has reported a total retail sales increase of 16.3 per cent selling 4,956 units in February this year compared to 4,261 units sold last February.

In a statement to the public, JSW MG Motor India has explained that wholesales last month experienced a drop to 4002 units, a decrease from February 2004’s 4595 units. This is due to a downturn in production at Halol and Windsor facilities, which required structural changes to be made for the new products and stabilization of Windsor serves as a temporary measure.

Additionally, the company’s EV fleet portfolio accounts for 78 percent of total sales achieved during the month. Meanwhile, MG Windsor has accelerated its production pathways in the Indian passenger electric vehicle segment with 15k cumulative units produced.

As stated by the company, JSW MG Motor India is will be increasing their product portfolio in the next few months with the addition of Cyberster MG and MG M9. The statement cites the business will be marketed through MG Select, the premium brand channel.

Tata Motors sales dip 8%

Tata Motors recorded on Saturday a decline of 8% year-on-year in domestic and international sales amounting to 79,344 units in February.

The company sold 86,406 units in the same month last year.

As per the records of business, Tata motors stated that total domestic sales jumped to by 9 percent down to m77,232 units in the month that was, from the previous year’s period of 84,834.

The overall sales for passenger vehicles, which includes electric vehicles, registered a decline of 9 percent at 46,811 units. During the same period in the previous year, the sales units were recorded at 51,321.

In February, general commercial vehicle sales plummeted by 7 percent on a yearly scale, reaching only 32,533 units.
