According to the reports on both sides, the Hamas-Israel war has resulted in an immense loss, civilians suffered heavy humanitarian losses in the form of injuries alongside damaged infrastructure and have been forced out of their homes while all of this continues to threaten and damage Gaza further.
In addition to the previous conflict, during late 2022 Israel also had to deal with clashes from Hezbollah troops stationed in Lebanon. Not to forget, Iran also accounts on Israeli borders while the Houthi rebels carry out their operations from Yemen. Unfortunately, for the people of Gaza, Yemen, and Lebanon there has been an immense damage caused by all the conflicts. But on the other hand Israeli Arms providers report an increase in profits which have made a profound difference in the year of 2024 for them and other defense companies.
The current Israeli assaults have earned these Israeli firms and companies substantial profits, as they are breaking every record. However, the current situation in Gaza and Lebanon has turned those regions into graveyards. Arms sale industry has sky rocked and gained immense amount of profit during this period as well.
Israeli companies have gotten richer due to…, broke all records of… , but Gaza, Lebanon turning into ‘graveyard’ due to attacks by Israel.
Jerusalem Post reported about Wall Street Journal. This report said that Elbit Systems, Rafael, and Israel Aerospace Industries are expected or aiming for record sales this year. In comparison to the 23% growth in the previous year, orders for these three companies have increased by at least 25% in 2024.
Moreover, the demand for foreign defense systems increased as they witnessed the Iron Dome battle and the Arrow missile increase wars. IAI sold Slovakia the Anti-Air systems for $560 million only recently. IAI’s CEO Boaz Levy said Israel along the rest of the world are increasing their demand for weapons.
On Tuesday, the Defense Ministry signed two significant contracts with Elbit Systems which are estimated to worth about NIS 1 billion. The contracts are said to increase self-reliance and the operational preparations of the IDF.
The first contract, which is a product of the Ministry’s Production and Procurement Department, is geared towards augmenting the strike capabilities of the IDF by acquiring heavy air munitions in thousands of units. The second contract, which was equally developed alongside the directorate for defense research, the DDR&D and the ministry Planning Department, aims at the realization of a raw material national facility.
Israel’s defense industry considers the historic arms sales surge in the country a tremendous achievement. It strengthens the military’s reputation of Israel around the globe and compliments the economy of the country. The systems seem to be incredibly seeking attention around the world with great success in the Iron Dome and Arrow. While the Israeli defense industry keeps improving, the military and the government are under increasing pressure from the international community due to the attacks in Gaza and Lebanon.
