Not too long ago, Saudi Arabia was mocked for its discrimination towards Pakistan but now it seems they have learned their lessons as the country has reverted back to its uncontested regional leader. Due to the rising tensions between the two countries, Saudi Arabia deported 258 Pakistanis. The rest of the deports were allegedly caused by illegal activity, and paperwork issues, Saudi Arabia also alleged that the since over 45,000 Pakistan immigrated, there have been cases of begging as well.

As many as 258 Pakistanis were deported from seven countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE and China in the last 24 hours, officials said. As per the PTI news agency's report, speaking to immigration officials at Karachi's Jinnah International Airport, one Atta Hasan Khan said that of these, 14 held Pakistani passports and the remaining 244 were deported on emergency travel certificates.
“We detained 16 illegal immigrants at the Karachi international airport” these include an Illegal Immigrant with questionable nationality. Others were interrogated and then set free,” the news agency PTI cited him as saying. He claimed that nine of the deportees from Saudi Arabia are professional beggars. He added, “They completed their sentences for unauthorized performance of Hajj and were deported back.”
A Saudi Arabian ministry during a meeting with Pakistani Minister of Religious Affairs in November 2024 requested the authorities in Pakistan to intervene over the issue of Pakistani Beggars Imitating as Hijaj and travelling to Saudi Arabia. According to the triubune quoted sources in the Ministry of Religious Affairs who said the Saudi government is concerned about many people coming to Saudi Arabia on Umrah visa distinctly for begging which are more than the acceptable limits. The ministry warned that if the problems continue, it will reflect badly on the Pakistanis going for Umrah and Hajj in the future and on the arrangements for them.
According to an article featured in Dawn April 26,2024, Pakistan has a population of 230 million which includes no less than 38 million beggars. The daily average earning of each beggar is roughly estimated to be around Rs.850. Inspecting on the regional level, every beggar in Karachi is predicted to earn around 2000 rupees daily, Lahore is slightly lower then large city at 1400 rupees, while Islamabad being the capital slightly lowered the average per beggar abundance at 950 rupees. However, the general approximation of Rs.850 per day remains the same for beggars across the globe.
In an interview he was able to state that there are illegal workers that have been deported from Saudi Arabia and the UAE and that 4 of these illegal workers where sent back to their countries for illegal drug usage. In total, he stated, one person was deported from China, Qatar, Indonesia, Cyprus and Nigeria.
While being able to agree with what he stated over the deportation issue, he was keen to state that the number of deported people is increasing tenfold targeting women too. Recently, he stated that the immigration office has offloaded 35 passengers at the Karachi airport which where relocating to other countries within a span of 24 hours.
A group of passengers traveling to Saudi Arabia on Umrah visas were denied boarding due to an inability to pay for their tickets as well as a lack of in hand hotel reservations. Also, those intending to visit the country using work visas were denied boarding for not submitting the required documents. Officials made it clear that in order to avoid such situations, it was important for the passengers to have the appropriate visas, advance bookings, funds and documents.
