Kangana Ranaut & Javed Akhtar Settle Long-Running Defamation Case

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut took to Twitter yesterday to announce that she settled the defamation dispute with screenwriter Javed Akhtar through mediation.

In a post on social media, the actor politician said that her legal opponent had been ‘kind’ and “gracious” and ‘cooperative’ in the mediation. 

“Today, we have settled the matter between us Javedji and I through mediation. And in my directorial debut, he has kindly agreed to write songs,” Kangana Ranaut captioned the picture she posted with Akhtar.

There is no response from Akhtar so far.

Akhtar had alleged that Had it now came to this that had alleged that Ranaut’s claims which reportedly were brought forward after the name of Sushant Singh Rajput death was dragged into his name in a certain news channel interview in July of the year 2020.

Ranaut's lawyers responded with a counter complaint for defamation explaining why she should not be locked up for trying to intimidate a famous producer’s wife into submission.

She claimed that Akhtar had, while at his house in 2016, said something which crossed the bounds of normal civility to the point of threatening her in case she did not apologize to a specific co-star.
