Apple iOS 18.4 Dev Beta 4: Stability Improvements & Bug Fixes
Apple initiated the rollout of the fourth developer beta for iOS 18.4 for compatible iPhone devices alongside a public beta. This new version is more relavent to bug fixes and system refinements instead of implementing new features. One of the fixes include a problem that was faced by certain users having to turn on Siri before using Apple Intelligence.Expected to launch in April, iOS 18.4 will enhance localization by incorporating English (India) and also adds new features such as Priority Notifications, new Sketch mode for Image Playground, and some others.

In this update, Apple has fixed several customer-facing issues and exposed them to public beta.Siri had to be active for Apple Intelligence to work with languages other than English (US).Some Apple Intelligence functions were still shown as unavailable or “Downloading support…” after restoring iOS 18.4 or iPad OS 18.4.Some Apple Intelligence capabilities stayed inoperable until the unit was rebooted.An error message was shown when the “Replace” item was selected after a list, key points, a table, or summary in Writing Tools was made around or in the range of the zoom.Some of the foreign languages for which Siri suggestion work were not completed succesfully. Flickering or unexpected mini collapses occured when scrolling through the notifications.
iOS 18.4: Latest Features UpdatesThis is the list of the new features expected to be available on iPhones with iOS 18.4: **Priority Notifications** - Automatically identifies and categorizes key notifications, employing on-device AI for processing.**Playground Style Update** - Adds a new Sketch style for "Animation" and "Illustration," allowing for greater customization.**Visual Intelligence** - Released initially on the iPhone 16 series, this update is available on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max enabling AI enabled visual search.
**Control center Improvements** - Additional shortcuts for Apple Intelligence and Siri, for example “Talk to Siri”, “Type to Siri” or “Visual Intelligence” have been added. **Other Changes** - Expanded actions for Shortcuts on Books, News, Safari, and Maps, and new emojis, including but not limited to, Fingerprint, Leafless Tree, Harp, and Shovel.
