Tulsi Gabbard: PM Modi & Trump Share Commitment to Peace [
The U.S National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard informed on Tuesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi aligns with the views of President Donald Trump in terms of fostering peace.
During her two-and-a-half day visit in India, Gabbard featured at the Raisina Dialogue 2025 in New Delhi and added, “The same as President Trump, peace is a commitment of PM Modi.”
She set the tone of her speech with a very warm statement: “Good morning, aloha, namaste, Jai Shri Krishna,” and commended Gabbard for noting the firm bilateral relations between India and the USA and the unique friendship that exists between PM Modi and President Trump. “The partnership between our two countries has been strong for decades,” Gabbard noted, reinforcing the long cooperation. She gave credit to the increasing bilateral relationships to the foreign policy of President Trump which, in her words, was based on “realism and pragmatism.”
“President Trump remains committed to achieving peace through a strategy of realism and pragmatism,” she reiterated his message on global peace and strongly backed her statement by saying he will always strive for global peace looking through a practical lens.Gabbard emphasized the personal relationship between the two leaders as an important factor in achieving diplomatic success. “PM Modi and Trump have a personal friendship,” she said explaining, “when PM Modi came to the US, it was a rekindling of the friendship,” referring to the Indian Prime Minister’s recent visit to the United States. As an attempt to correct an erroneous view of US foreign policy, Gabbard claimed that the so called ‘America First’ model of President Trump can, in no way, be considered isolationist. "That is an unfair way to look at it. It shouldn’t be mistaken that our President is calling for America First that is an isolationist. Such a statement derives from a more profound misunderstanding or incorrect supposition that the only way to deal with other countries is through war," she explained, "He wants to go down as a peacemaker and unifier."“America first doesn’t mean America alone,” Gabbard countered, stressing that the US future will always be cooperative with the rest of the world.
