Who Was Acharya Satyendra Das? Ayodhya Ram Mandir’s Late Chief Priest

The head priest of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple at Ayodhya Acharya Satyendra Das, 83 years old, died on Wednesday at the SGPGIMS hospital in Lucknow. The hospital informed that das was hospitalized on the 3rd of February after suffering a brain stroke. He had been suffering from other serious ailments like high blood pressure and diabetes.
Speaking of his health situation, the assigned hospital said: “Satyendra Das ji, the chief priest of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, passed away today. He was admitted to the Neurology ward’s High Dependency Unit (HDU) on February 3 in critical condition after suffering a stroke.”
In the quote that follows attributed to Pradeep Das, it is stated that “the corpse of the aged priest is now being transported from Lucknow to the holy city (Ayodhya) where he is expected to be cremated on the banks of Saryu river on Thursday.”
In his message of condolences on the death of the elderly priest, the utmost leader of the state, Yogi Adityanath, has referred to this incident as ‘an irreparable loss’ and has not shied away from expressing his sentiments towards the family of this priest.
Who was Acharya Satyendra Das?
Acharya Satyendra Das was 83 years of age ayodhya and held the title of head priest for the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.
Starting from the period of the destruction of the Babri Masjid, which was on December 6, 1992, he was living at the temple. He had been a member of Nirvani Akhara and since the age of 20, had dedicated his life toward performing spiritual work. He was very amiable and easy to talk to, and many reporters would approach him for his opinion concerning Ayodhya and the Ram temple.
