When Aishwarya Rai Rejected a Film With Abhishek Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has never shied away from speaking out. She is admired for her sharp intelligence and knows exactly how to deal with those who are out of line. It is commonplace within the film industry for people to accept projects and then simply drop out without so much as a word. Aishwarya has one such name on her list as well. This was supposed to be a family drama in which she appeared together with her husband Abhishek Bachchan. However, some accounts state that certain details concerning the history of the producer’s background made Aishwarya leave the project.

This former ‘Miss World’ stands for women and has spoken about that on international platforms. Floral Saini, the ‘Stree’ actress, once shared how Aish’s refusal to choose a particular film was something way beyond a personal tiff or professional disagreement. It was a woman’s point of view.

Why Aishwarya Rai Turned Down A Film With Abhishek Bachchan?

Ever since the release of Guru in 2007, Aishwarya and Abhishek have been fan favorites, and their electrifying romance on screen made the audience crave even more. While it was underworks, it did not make to the floor. Floral Saini, who played the character of ghost of ‘Stree’ in the film, opened up about being physically abused by her then boyfriend Gaurang Doshi. In India’s #MeToo movement, many faces were raised like Doshi. Doshi is a filmmaker who has worked with Amitabh Bachchan in Deewar (2004), Aankhen (2002).

The producer was ready to film ‘Happy Anniversary’ with Aishwarya Rai alongside Abhishek Bachchan, however, she chose to refrained due to the allegations that surrounded him, as per Floral Saini’s remark.

In 2018, she shared her beating stories on Facebook and how it personally affected her life. In an interview with Bollywood Life, she pointed out that there was a period of time when she was out of employment simply due to how graphically she chose to come out. “In such situations, I wonder whether I made the right call or not. My career seemingly came to a halt. As the sole provider for my family, that left me in a precarious situation. No assistance!” I appreciate, from the deep depths of my heart, Aishwarya Rai who gave me support in my hour of need," Saini said in an interview. While she praised the actress, Saini explained that, "she (Aishwarya Rai) had signed a film with Gaurang, and she walked out of it.” She had further stated he overshadowed her as a novice and took her word over mine since my jaw got fractured.

Nevertheless, Gaurang Doshi has not accepted those accusations and as of now, there has been no evidence provided for any outcome.
