Teen, Parents Held for ‘Anti-National Slogans’ During IND-PAK Match

A teenage boy from Malvan, a town in Maharashtra’s Sindhudurg district, was arrested for hurling anti-India slogans during the cricket match between India and Pakistan last Sunday. His family was also taken into custody, and their scrap business was set on fire by the local officials, as per Indian Express news report.
As claimed by police, there was a man passing by the family’s house who stated that he saw a boy shouting pro-Pakistan slogans. The man, along with a few other people from the area, started fighting with the family which turned out to be a scuffle.
Following that, some people summoned the police, and acting on a request made by a resident of that area, they registered a case. The parents were arrested that day and later produced before the court which sent them to jail. The father and mother face charges of causing communal disputes, promoting national disintegration, and conspiracy.
