Africa Continent: An ocean is set to divide eastern Africa unto itself. This division will happen due to tectonic forces that have the ability to form oceans. With the coming of this ocean, Africa’s map will undergo a radical overhaul along with its ecosystem. Scientists claim that the tectonic forces which lie at the center of Earth, are working so rapidly, that they will single handedly abolish the continent entirely and rework the globe indeterminably.

They assert that the process isn’t groundbreaking, it is just the rate at which tectonic forces are acting and redoing the globe seems astonishing. Within a million years, the globe will be altered forever. Currently, the African and Somali plates are drifting away from each other, but the rate is set at 0.8 centimeters per year.

Massive land fissures alongside the continuous separation of East Africa from the rest of it will become fairly apparent. One of the most astonishing factor is that in Afar Region of Ethiopia alone the crack measures a staggering 60 kilometers in length and at the same time 10 meters deep.

What scientists had to say:

The rate at which Earth’s tectonic forces act claim that Africa will cease to exist. This will cause unsurmountable alterations across the globe and in turn profoundly alter the map of Earth.

The scientists are of the opinion that this would have earlier taken around 1 million years. However, now it is accelerating and is expected to be completed within the next one million years or even less. The African and Somali plates are splitting at a rate of 0.8 centimeters per year. This continuous process is resulting in the fragmentation of East Africa througuh gigantic cracks and land subsidence. In Ethiopia’s Afar region, a crack has already extended 60 kilometers in length and reached a depth of 10 meters. The scientists say that this rift will in the future cleave the African continent in its entirety and give rise to a new ocean. Parts of East Africa might get completely separated from the rest of the continent due to this rift.

Ethiopia underwent 420 earthquakes in 2005 which caused scientists to exclaim that it split open within a few days. It formed a massive crack in the ground. Looking at this from a broader geographical perspective, east Africa is set to further divide with the creation of a new ocean due to the tectonic movements of the plates. Straight away with the formation of the ocean, the rest of the continents ecosystem will demographically change. Africa’s map will undergo dramatic changes as well. A unique fact that scientists seem to agree on is that the forces beneath the tectonics are at such a rate that it will invoke the complete fragmentation of the African continent along with the tectonics shifting, which will drastically alter the geography of the world.

Previously, it would have taken millions of years, but with all the discussed forces shifting, the process seems to complete within in a million years, if not less. Today, it is known that the Somali and African plates are moving apart at a rate of 0.8 centimeters each year.

the text has been paraphrased The phenomenon at East Africa is referring to two facets BCAD: the rifting and the fragmentation. These processes would unconsciously lead to a new geo-structure in Earth’s map. Scientists suggest this rift would split the entire continent of Africa leading to a new ocean being formed. Although this processes could happen over a span of a million years, it is essential to highlight the transformed rate of deterioration. Scientists have focused on the fault lines and cracks the earth mask has yielded to create an area of 60km in joining the 10m mark deep in ethopian regions. an unstable ellipse teamtrack has been ruptured due to the deterioration process at the Ethiopian’s hot spot.

Ethiopia underwent over 420 earthquakes in the year 2005 leading to a tremendous rift and fissure formation on its surface. Typically, scientists argue that such occurrences take hundreds of years to transpire, but for Ethiopia, it took merely few days to do so.
