Pushpa 2: The Rule' Becomes Second Most-Watched Indian Film Globally

Allu Arjun’s film Pushpa 2: The Rule has been a hot topic at all post-release events ever since it came out. As expected from its fandom, the film was one of the blockbuster’s of the year. The film was produced with an estimated investment of 400-500 crores. With earnings of 1466.85 crores globally, it cements its place as one of the highest grossed Indian film of 2024. As for the Pushpa 2 theater attendance, it was quite good too.

The next big moment everyone was waiting for was the OTT release of Pushpa 2. For all the people who could not experience the massy action film in theatres, Netflix provided them the opportunity to experience the film. Allu Arjun’s film was added to Netflix’s catalog on 30 January 2025 and it has broken records by becoming the second most viewed non-English film across the globe.

In only four days, Pushpa 2: The Rule was able to achieve one of the highest ranks on Netflix. The film kept rising on the charts, becoming the most watched movie in 7 countries and entered the top ten in 15 other countries.

Not only is Pushpa 2: The Rule the most watched film around the globe, but it is also currently the second most popular movie. To add on to this, it was the most viewed film in 7 countries and was in the top 10 in 15 other countries. 

Since its release, the movie has earned quite a view count, sitting at 5.8 million views, as well as 21.8 million hours of watch time. It even ranked second on Netflix in non English movies for the week ending Febuary 2nd. 

The movie that had people anticipating for it throughout the year was, Pushpa 2. The sequel of the blockbuster was published on December 5 of 2024 featuring an astounding cast which consisted of Allu Arjun, Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna, all reprising their roles from the first film. It was also available in multiple languages such as Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and even Malayalam. 

The movie studio decided to please the fans even more and added an additional twenty minutes of footage to the movie. This decision made them even more popular amongst fans. 

The conclusion of the 2nd movie, Pushpa 2: The Rule included a teaser for the next movie, which fans of the franchise will know will be Pushpa 3: The Rampage.
