PM Modi Attends Dinner Hosted by President Macron in Paris

The much awaited ”AI Action Summit“ will take place on Tuesday and PM Narendra Modi is getting set for its Co-chairing session with Emmanuel Macron. The summit intends to unite world leaders and prominent tech company executives to debate on downtimes of innovation in the field of Artificial Intelligence. Of utmost importance in these discussions will be the ethics and frameworks surrounding the development of AI.
Before the arrival, PM Modi was set to visit students and teachers of the Indira Gandhi school. Following his arrival at Orly airport, he went for dinner at the Elysee Palace with the French President. After seting the stage for his high level diplomatic dinner, the French leader hugged him. Pompidou was also present along with several dignitaries which included US Vice President JD Vance.
Congratulating the students and teachers from teh Indira Gandhi school, PM Modi also greeted Vance on his win in the Presidential elections to which he received Vance hugging him as a sign of glee. The meeting took place between some figures of Trump administration along with the President before the PM’s visit to Washington.
During his visit, the PM will also have bilateral interactions with President Macron alongside the AI summit. These two will also attend the India – France CEO’s forum and set Presidential level and delegation level discussions. The main topics of conversation will include economic collaboration, technology partnership and stragic initiatives.
This trip will also take PM Modi further from Paris, with the two of them traveling to Marseille on Wednesday. There, he will open India’s first consulate in France. This will allow greater service to be extended to the growing Indian population that resides in the southern part of the country, which includes cities such as Toulouse, Nice, Marseille, Grenoble, and Lyon.
While in Marseille, PM Modi will also participate in paying respects to Indian warriors who laid down their lives during the World Wars at the Mazargues War Cemetery, reflecting the strong and ancient relationship that India and France share.
Both leaders will also visit the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) Cadarache, one of the few projects in the world that aims to utilize fusion energy for global use which India is a consortium partner.
India and France celebrated the 25th anniversary of their enduring strategic partnership last year. Collaboration on different fronts such as defence, security, civilian nuclear energy, space, trade, and commerce has deepened during these years.
In recent years, the scope of the collaboration has advanced into new frontiers like innovation and technology, maritime security, counterterrorism, health cooperation, renewable energy, and developmental projects targeting third nations.
The visit from the Prime Minister has the potential to strengthen this relationship which will in turn improve Indias position in the world with respect to AI, energy and global economic cooperation.
After the European portion of his visit, PM Modi will go to the United States for two days where he will strengthen the relations of India with the US under the leadership of Trump.
