MP Signs 19 MoUs in Cooperative Sector to Aid Farmers & Industry

On Tuesday, Madhya Pradesh signed an additional 19 MoUs to boost the earnings of farmers as well as give private companies a chance to source the raw materials. These documents were signed in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav at the ongoing Madhya Pradesh Global Investors Summit (MP GIS) 2025.
During the summit, O Yadav mentioned that both Centre and state government are working to facilitate the cooperative movement throughout the nation. He further ensured full assistance to the investors in their all activities in the state.
During the summit, state Cooperation Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang said, “We are also having high hopes that the CPPP (Cooperative Public Private Partnership) policy of the state will also be successful. The state government is giving it a C-PPP marketing strategy."The minister said, “This model will be a win-win situation for all. Private companies are guaranteed raw materials while a large number of farmers are guaranteed higher incomes. Co-operative societies will market the final products as well.”
He said he was pleased with 19 MoUs, including Reliance and Baidyanath.
Sarang said that he will also establish an investment wing to monitor the implementation of these MOUs at the district level.
Speaking during the event Ashok Barnwal, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Cooperation MP government, mentioned that there are 1.09 lakh co operative societies as well as 4,536 PACS (Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies) in the state. With this, these PACS can emerge as suppliers of the incorporated raw materials for the private enterprises. In this model, Ashok stated, the state government will act as a facilitator and will define the policies to encourage the initiative. He stated that all the industries have their portion of the cooperative societies. In the quest for India's goal of a 5 trillion economy, Jain Siddharth, Joint Secretary in the Union Ministry of Cooperation believes that the co operatives will play a greatly significant role in this transition. He added that the cooperative sector consists of nearly 30 crore people out of which 1 lakh PACS exist in the country. These PACS are being modernised through computerisation hence, they will soon have the technological capabilities of a modern day bank. Jain added that the center permitted these PACS to expand and diversify in various new sectors. He further welcomed the MoUs signed between the MP government and private players extending support from the central government to the co operatives.
