Milkipur Bypoll Election Result: BJP’s Chandrabhanu Paswan Wins by 61,000 Votes

New Delhi: With 25 rounds of counting in Milkipur, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Chandrabhanu Paswan emerged victorious with over 60000 votes, while his opposition in Samajwadi Party (SP) Ajit Prasad was left far behind with 57016 votes. This Milkipur bypoll saw a total of 10 contestants, however, the real fight remains between the BJP and the SP. The most notable names are BJP’s Chandrabhanu Paswan and SP’s Ajit Prasad. The stakes have escalated especially after the shocking defeat of BJP in Faizabad by Awadhesh Prasad n last year’s Lok Sabha elections, just months after the spectacular unveiling of the Ayodhya Ram temple. Akhilesh Yadav, head of the Samajwadi Party has lashed out at the Yogi Adityanath controlled UP governments for “skewing” the Milkipur bypoll. He stated that the EC had become deaf due to the repeated complaints of unfair elections, thus claiming the commission should be covered with a white sheet being declared ‘dead’.
