Meet Shikha Rai: BJP's Candidate Challenging AAP's Saurabh Bharadwaj in Greater Kailash

Delhi Assembly Election Result: In the fiercely contested Greater Kailash Assembly constituency of South Delhi, BJP’s Shikha Rai is now ahead of AAP Senior Leader Saurabh Bharadwaj. As per Shikha’s latest statement, she currently leads by 15,459 votes, which puts her ahead of Bharadwaj’s current standing of 11,410 received votes. In other words, she is ahead by 4,049 according to the Election Commission. While the counting of votes is still ongoing, it has clear signals that the BJP dominated party is likely to win this important seat by a huge margin. Importantly, the Greater Kailash Assembly constituency had a triangled contest amongst the AAP, BJP, and the Congress’s ruling party on February 5.
Greater Kailash Assembly Constituency
The parliament should pay extra attention to this region since Greater Kailash is the single most important community block of national capital region and the main focus of several political parties like BJP and Congress in the National Capital in the coming years. Hence, in the 2025 assembly elections, this seat is expected to be one of the most contested in Delhi and AAP would do its best to save face and retain control of the seat.
The 60-year-old BJP politician's political future will be determined next in the Delhi Assembly elections in 2025. At current, she is serving as the BJP councillor for the second term from ward number 173 in the Greater Kailash assembly constituency. Recently Shikha has stated that she is confident that the saffron party will win and successfully form the government. While refuting the AAP’s claims that the BJP is loosing the battle, she said, “The people of Delhi also want development like the other states that have a double-engine government,” she told ANI. But Saurabh has said that the exit polls will be wrong and AAP will win and form government this time also.
