Delhi Elections Results 2025: The unprecedented prospect of BJP leader Parvesh Verma defeating the former Chief Minister of Delhi and the head of Aam Admi Party, Arvind Kejriwal, is emerging. As per election commissions latest trends, Parvesh who had previously won the 2 term Lok Sabha from West Delhi was leading in the New Delhi seat by 4100 votes. His emergence is apt considering that Verma is an ex-2 Lok Sabha MP from the West Delhi constituency.

Who is Parvesh Verma?

Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma was born in 1977 to renowned political family and veteran BJP leader, Sahib Singh who was the Delhi chief minister until 2007. Furthermore, Parvesh’s uncle Azad Singh was also quite prominent as the ex mayor of North Delhi Municipal Corporation, while contesting for Mundaka assembly’s BJP ticket during the 2013 polls, but was unfortunately not successful.

Parvesh Verma Education

While pursuing an education in Delhi, Parvesh attended Delhi Public School R.K. Puram where he completed his A levels before going on to Kirori Mal College University of Delhi where he attained his Bachelor of Arts degree. He later pursued an MBA from Fore School of Management.

Parvesh Verma political career

In 2013, Parvesh Verma formally entered politics and won the Mehrauli Assembly Constituency during the Delhi Assembly elections that year. 

Soon after, in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Verma won the West Delhi Lok Sabha seat and, in 2019, won by a record margin of 5.78 votes, earning him a seat in the Lok Sabha for another term.

During his tenure, Parvesh Verma served on the Standing Committee of Urban Development and was part of the Joint Committee on Salaries and Allowances of Members of Parliament.

Campaign against AAP, Kejriwal

In the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP decided to put forward Parvesh Verma against former Chief Minister Kejriwal, realizing that they needed a more formidable politician to challenge the head of AAP. 

Verma headed a campaign called, “Remove Kejriwal, Save the Nation,” targeting Arvind Kejriwal’s failure to deliver on the promises made during the elections.

Parvesh Verma attacked the AAP government’s administration and raised concerns around pollution, women safety, and civic infrastructure during his campaign. He also blasted the AAP for failing to clean up the Yamuna River, pointing out the ruling party’s claimed “mismanagement” of environmental issues in Delhi.

As per available data and election affidavits, Parvesh Verma has assets (movable and immovable) worth Rs 115.6 crore with Rs 10.5 crore being in cash and other expenditure accounts and Rs 25 crore as bonds and other investments.
