Success Story: Artika Shukla’s Inspiring Journey to IAS

Artika Shukla, a resident of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, achieved an extraordinary feat by clearing the UPSC Civil Services Examination without any coaching. Her remarkable journey serves as an inspiration for aspirants across the country.

A Family of Achievers

Artika hails from a distinguished family. Her father, Brijesh Shukla, is a doctor, while her mother, Leena Shukla, is a homemaker. She has two elder brothers, Gaurav Shukla and Utkarsh Shukla, who have also successfully cleared the UPSC examination.

A Rising Star in the Bureaucracy

Much like IAS officer Tina Dabi from Rajasthan, Artika Shukla has garnered significant attention and admiration. With an impressive presence on social media, she has become a role model for many UPSC aspirants.

In the 2015 UPSC Civil Services Examination, Tina Dabi secured the top rank, while Artika Shukla impressively secured the fourth position, making headlines for her success.

From Medicine to Civil Services

Initially, Artika aspired to follow in her father’s footsteps and pursue a medical career. She completed her MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College and later enrolled in MD studies at PGIMER. However, a pivotal moment came when her elder brother Gaurav advised her to consider preparing for the IAS examination.

Taking her brother’s suggestion seriously, Artika made a bold decision to leave her MD program and dedicate herself entirely to UPSC preparation. Without enrolling in any coaching classes, she relied on self-study and strategic preparation, ultimately securing an impressive fourth rank in the exam.

An Inspiration for Aspirants

Artika Shukla’s journey is a testament to determination, perseverance, and self-belief. Her story continues to inspire countless UPSC aspirants, proving that with dedication and the right approach, success is attainable even without formal coaching.
