Meet Azim Premji’s ‘Bahu’: Rishad Premji’s Love Beyond Religion

Both Rishad Premji and his father, Azim Premji remain exemplary figures of modesty. This was undeniably evident when Rishad married his childhood friend Aditi in August of 2005 during an understated wedding celebration. Unlike many grandchildren, Rishad along with the title of Chairman of one of the largest IT firms in India, also earned the title of an ethical business leader who values social welfare.

Professional Journey of Rishad Premji

Rishad primary started his journey when he became an employee at Bain and Company. Bain and Company is a management consultancy firm situated in the US. Among his various personal interests, Rishad is known to have a deep passion for reading and music, too. In addition to this, he is known to be a graduate from Harvard Business School. 

Previously, Rishad was the Chief Strategy Officer at Wipro which propelled his career in a positive direction. At Wipro, he was responsible for overseeing the management of investor relations and government relations. From 2018-2019 he served as the chairman of NASSCOM which is one of the most prestigious positions in India.

Rishad Premji Interfaith Marriage With Aditi

He married Aditi, who was his friend. Aditi was Aditi’s classmate at Harvard Business School. He married Aditi in 2005 during a simple ritual. Rishad has two children, Rohan and Riya. 

Premji spent his childhood in Mumbai. His personal life reflects the same simplicity and humility instilled by his father, Azim Premji. Rishad’s grandfather was a well known rice trader of India. Rishad is very fond of reading and listening to music. 

Leadership At Wipro and Azim Premji Foundation

The foundation aims at enhancing the standards of education in government schools throughout India. It works in more than 350000 government schools in seven states. 

During the COVID-19 outbreak, Wipro and the Azim Premji Foundation offered a whopping 1125 crore rupees for donation which aids to the relief support.
