Mahakumbh 2025 – Makar Sankranti Pooja, Everything You Need to Know, Held For the First Time During Amrit Snan

Makar Sankranti: The earthly idea also known as khich incorporates Ganga Snan, running message story toward the Sun God, fasting, and charity all in one package. It will be widely held in many parts of the country on Tuesday with much fanfare indeed.

This is why on this day a Ganga bath as well as a Badrinath temple donation of baths are held in special honor. As narrated in Mahabharata, Bhisma Pitamah had decided to die on Makar Sankranti day.  Naga Sadhus of Panchayati Nirvani Akhara performed an Amrit bathing with spear trident swords. Sadhus and saints then rode in a procession on horse-back and in chariots. They were accompanied by the Bhajan Mandals who chanting of the devotees rendered the more holy atmosphere to the procession.  The administration took appropriate measures and made strong arrangements in every nook and corner of Maha Kumbh Nagar to ensure the safety of the devotees. Barricades were placed in every corner of theaan so as to carry out vehicle control checkpoints. Police and security personnel were deployed in all areas as well.
