Perhaps, you have watched many stunning and shocking films, but could you recall the 2018’s black comedy crime thriller the viewers of which were left with the question mark, ‘What is to happen next? There remain no doubt that the director commenced the film in the first scene where it immediately hooks the attention of the audience and in the first half an hour, the climax starts. As much as we can now speak about a certain low-budget film, which has become popular overnight.

The subject movie is Andhadhun which was released in the year 2018. This movie differs from other movies of the thriller genre and makes the viewers watch, mesmerized till the end. Sriram Raghavan directed Andhadhun is an unusual romantic crime thriller film with all sorts of shocks and twists. The screenplay is a real thriller, providing the viewer with no opportunity to close his or her eyes to what is going on on the screen for the time the movie lasts. The climax is guaranteed to make you excited and give you a rather surprised feeling.

Andhadhun is a critically acclaimed movie of the Bollywood film industry of India. It has an unexpected plot and intensity, and it does not let the watchers relax until the very end. Cast of the film includes Ayushmann Khurrana, Radhika Apte and Tabu. The film stars Ayushmann who portrays himself as a blind piano player who struggles to make his living playing piano in his girlfriend’s restaurant. Tabu plays the character of a woman who decides to marry an old man, Anil Dhawan, in order to become a wealthy woman. However, things turn grim when the character played by Anil dies and it is a case of murder. Although Ayushmann is blind by birth, he is also falsely presumed to be involved in the crime. How could he have seen the murder and does he not know that he killed her? This is as expected where I intervene by bringing the most exciting twist to the story. Andhadhun was remade three times in the South, the first being Bhramam in Malayalam, Andhagan in Tamil, the second and third ones being Maestro in Telugu.

The movie was made in a budget of Rs. 32 crore and and yet, it garnered Rs. 440 crore globally more than many Movies with huge budget. In India, Andhadhun collected Rs 96 crore; internationally, it further, especially in China where the movie was titled Piano Player, collected Rs 330 crore.

This film has also bagged three National Film Awards titles of the Best Hindi Feature Film for Sriram Raghavan, Best Actor for Ayushmann Khurrana, and the best screenplay for Sriram Raghavan, Arijit Biswas, Pooja Lada Surti, Yogesh Chander, Hemant Rao. Andhadhun goes down in the list of great suspense thrillers in the recent times and the success states it all about the success formula of engrossing script and superlative performances.
