In Bollywoood, there are situations where a director goes out of their way to find and hire a certain actor or actress. Unfortunately for them, that actor may reject the offer due to other commitments or personal reasons. Furthermore, there can be an entire range of other elements that may lead an actor to pass up on a particular offer. In the same fashion, today we will tell you what Anurag Basu’s Barfi! first choice was, which features fan-favorite Priyanka Chopra along with Ranbir Kapoor and a superb chemistry. On the other Ileana D’Cruz also had a pivotal role in the movie, but it is known that Anurag Basu’s first choice for Ileana’s character was not her but rather Katrina Kaif.

Ileana D’Cruz played the character of Shruti Ghosh in Barfi!, a character that had first been assigned to another actress. She contributed quite significantly to the story hence the director Anurag Basu expected Katrina Kaif to fulfill that role.
