Junaid Khan Opens Up on Aamir Khan & Reena Dutta’s Divorce

Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta had married in 1962 and went on to have two children together during their marriage. After 16 years of marriage, the couple parted ways in 2002. He then went on to marry Kiran Rao in 2005 with whom he shares a son named Azad.

Aamir’s son Junaid Khan, recounts that when the parents got divorced, he was very young, and he remembers saying, “My mother and father loved me very much, Junaid said,” while showcasing concern regarding how the split impacted his parents. Well, now I can say that the divorce was best for everyone and I am grateful my parents did not have to suffer together.”. The actor explained to india.com that both parents had their weaknesses, however, them separating didn’t change the way he and his sister Ira were raised.

As a result, both parents were happier which was indeed a good thing for all. Further, Junaid clarifies them not having issues reflects in the manner in which he and Ira were brought up stating “I never saw them argue while growing up.”

Even after they parted ways, we never had to deal with anything contradictory.” Khan and Dutta have remained friends over the years, and their relationship is still strong. This was apparent when they attended their daughter Ira’s wedding last year.

As for Junaid, his next project is Loveyapa alongside Khushi Kapoor which is expected to hit the cinemas on February 7. The romantic comedy directed by Advait Chandan also features Ashutosh Rana, Kiku Sharda, and Grusha Kapoor in pivotal roles. In addition, Junaid has a film with Sai Pallavi towards the end of the year.
