Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, commented broadly on the country’s nuclear centers during a speech on February 13. In outlining the countermeasures that he is willing to take, Pezeshkian categorically stated that he will reconstruct his nation’s nuclear center if an attack is made on it. Now, this statement comes in the wake of the reports published by Washington Post and Wall Street Journal that had American intelligence sources claim that Israel might be ready to launch an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities by the midsection of this year.

Deter and Never Start a War Strategy

Boking claims of almost magic capabilities of placing bases anywhere, according to center and state media, “The precision-guided UAVs sidestep advanced detection systems. They put bases anywhere, anytime. Attempting to grab them will be futile.” In one of his statements, Pezeshkian quoted, “If you, the enemy, destroy 100 of our bases, we will build 1,000…” He also added, “There is a limitation to the things one can and cannot destroy. I understand buildings can be bombed, but people are out of the question.”

This week, US President Donald Trump opened the possibility for discussing a full-scale bombing of Iran, an approach he is seemingly fond of, but he was quick to add that he would prefer to reach an agreement. Trump told reporters on Monday, “Everyone assumes Israel will go in there and literally inflict mass destruction on them, and that America will assist them, but I would rather that does not take place.”

On Thursday, Iran’s Air Force Commander Hamid Vahidi addressed Trump’s statement, saying, “We want to speak to all countries, whether friends or foes, and make it clear that in principle our country’s doctrine is defensive, however, we will retaliate with aggression to any attack by an enemy nation.”
