Hamas's New Governance Plan: Challenges Ahead for Israel

The Hamas organization from Gaza, notorious for its violence, has already commenced a war plan for Gaza which seems to be quite problematic. A previously related member of the Israeli intelligence agency known as Mossad, has asserted that Hamas has intentions of ruling Gaza in the same manner as Hezbollah rules over Lebanon. The officer from Mossad said that Hamas is after control over Gaza in the same way that Hezbollah does with the cover of the Palestinian Authority.
The Israeli Jerusalem Post has cited an interview with Ram Igra, a known Mossad captive and ex head of the missing persons section, claiming that information on further steps of the hostage exchange is at the stage of deliberation and coordination with Hamas. Igra’s point of emphasis was that the main aim of Hamas is to consolidate power in Gaza. Igra’s assertion is quoted as “They will do everything to do that."
Igra further argues that Hamas has objectives that are similar to the ones set forth when the Hezbollah model for Lebanon was created. The primary goal being the Palestinian Authority (PA) will apparently take the lead but behind the veil of good governance, Hamas will control everything. Igra criticized the current approach of the Israeli defense system and remarked that offensive measures alone cannot defeat Hamas.
Discuss Forms of Other Possible Military Rule
The ex-Mossad officer argued for a different approach for Gaza suggesting that a separate body could govern it. Hamas recently indicated a willingness to relinquish its administration of Gaza to the Palestinian Authority. However, many people do not trust it.
