The Inspiring Journey of IAS Pari Bishnoi: A Story of Dedication and Determination

Cracking the Civil Services Examination is no easy feat—it demands relentless dedication, hard work, and unwavering determination. Among those who have triumphed over this formidable challenge is IAS officer Pari Bishnoi, whose disciplined lifestyle and monk-like focus helped her secure an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 30 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination.

The UPSC exam serves as a gateway to prestigious positions such as IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, and more. Pari’s journey from a small village in Rajasthan to a high-ranking administrative officer is nothing short of inspiring.

A Humble Beginning in Rajasthan

Pari Bishnoi hails from Kakra village in the Bikaner district of Rajasthan. She completed her schooling at St. Mary’s Convent School in Ajmer, where she consistently excelled in academics, securing 91% in her Class 10 exams and 89% in Class 12.

Her pursuit of higher education led her to Delhi, where she enrolled at Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi, for her undergraduate studies. She later earned a master’s degree in political science from MDS University, Ajmer. Notably, she also qualified for the University Grants Commission–National Eligibility Test (UGC NET).

Inspired by Her Mother’s Legacy

Pari’s inspiration to join the civil services stemmed from her mother, Sushila Bishnoi, a dedicated officer in the Rajasthan Police. Witnessing her mother’s commitment to public service and the impact she made at the grassroots level deeply influenced Pari’s aspirations. Reports suggest that Sushila Bishnoi was one of the first female officers to serve as Station House Officer (SHO) in multiple police stations, further fueling Pari’s desire to pursue a career in administration and governance.

The Road to UPSC Success

Pari’s journey to cracking UPSC was marked by immense discipline and sacrifice. She cleared the examination in 2019 in her third attempt, securing an AIR of 30. To maximize her focus, she adopted an ascetic lifestyle—eliminating all distractions, including social media, and dedicating herself entirely to her studies.

Her efforts paid off, and at the young age of 23, she achieved her dream of becoming an IAS officer. Currently, she serves as the Additional District Magistrate in Sikkim under the North East Cadre and was appointed as the Returning Officer for the 2024 General Elections.

Personal Life and Political Connections

Beyond her professional achievements, Pari is also known for her political connections. She is married to Bhavya Bishnoi, an MLA from Haryana and the grandson of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal. Her father-in-law, Kuldeep Bishnoi, is a prominent member of the BJP.
