Bangladesh has also declined the invitation to the seminar taking place in Delhi on the 14th of January to honor the 150th anniversary of the existence of IMD, which was issued alongside Bangladesh’s summit proposal for travel restrictions. Mominul Islam served as Acting Director of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department and said that it was received a month ago, whereas Bangaldesh BMD’s officials will be unable to make it to the event. In accordance with Mominul’s statement, he mentioned that government funded travel is inappropriate considering the recent foreign proposal reached to Bangladesh.

IMD and its objectives

The IMD which Is set to complete, January 15 marks the date in which IMD becomes 150 years old.
