The performance of all-rounder Michael Bracewell, who took 4 wickets, single-handedly changed the match during the middle overs and led New Zealand to victory over Bangladesh during the Champions Trophy. This statement was released by Mitchell Santner, the captain.

New Zealand's convincing victory qualifying them to the semifinals alongside India, and eliminating the home teams, Pakistan and Bangladesh, from the tournament.

Rachin Ravindra (112 runs) and Michael Bracewell (4/26) were the biggest contributors in New Zealand's success for the particular night.

"It feels nice to qualify. I knew Bangladesh would be a challenge" Santner commented after the match, feeling relieved.

“It’s hard to get wickets in the middle-overs in ODIs. But Bracewell was brilliant. I thought he was a quality bowler before, but he has proved me right even more so with the way he is changing his pace on these wickets. He also bowls a lot to right-handers,” the captain explained. And, like many who witnessed the innings, is that Ravindra brilliantly dominated the chase of 237 after early losses, and therefore received a well deserved commendation.

The phrase of Santner was, “He loves ICC events. He was always a staunch supporter of the game,”. He feels as if Rachin is savoring his life to the fullest, being caught reminiscing game memories along with feeling happy where he is. Santner pointed out that Rachin figured out how to do cool things while accepting what he could offer without so much fluidity during the play. Santner continued to tell “His partnerships were good too, and once fluidity sets in, he’s a problem.”

He also described the Sunday final group game against India, saying, “It will be a different challenge on a different surface. Might be slower.”

After all these statements, the captain of Bangladesh Najmul Hossain determined that the reason he is captain is because he is the top scorer and his team lost the middle overs 77.

Shanto claimed, “We needed two big partnerships. Was a good wicket to bat on.” In his blame he said, “We started well today. (But) we lost too many wickets in the middle overs. We didn’t bat properly.”

While explaining the remaining unexpected part of the parts he added, “I think the game vs Pakistan (on the 27th of February) is an important game. I would be good to finish on a high. As a side we need to do better in batting and fielding, like always,” was the final remark.
