Arshin Kulkarni surprises everyone, HITS century on List A debut against Punjab in Vijay Hazare Trophy

In the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Arshin Kulkarni put up an extraordinary show for Maharashtra scoring an impressive 107 runs against Punjab, his first outing at professional cricket. His contribution of 145 runs with Ankit Bawne was quite decisive. New Delhi: Arshin Kulkami, a budding American cricketer from Maharashtra, made a notable impression during his List A cricket debut at the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024/25 just after the age of 19. on the 11th of January at Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara, he scored a stellar 107 runs on his debut, which resulting in Maharashtra reaching a total of 275 runs in their quarterfinal match against Punjab.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, the captain of the team, and Kulkarni commenced the first innings, but he faced some difficulty as Arshdeep Singh from Punjab was bowling tremendously well. recollecting himself, Kulkarni and Ankit Bawne built a pivotal third wicket stand of 145 runs and initiated the first innings of Maharashtra. As he made his century on his 41st over, he proved himself on the domestic circuit.

Kulkarni displayed his professional batting skills while placing 14 boundaries but no six in 137 deliveries faced in total. Bawne assisted him in earning runs as he scored 60 on 85 balls. With Nikhil Naik smashing 52 off 29 balls and Satyajeet Bachav’s brisk 20 runs, resultingly Maharashtra reached a competitive score of 275/6.

Arshdeep Singh earned Punjab three wickets for 56 runs during his nine overs, and this made him the best performer during the matches. His knack for getting rid of crucial players like Gaikwad at the beginning of the matches, was extremely helpful. On the other hand, Abhishek Sharma kept his figures up to date with the other bowlers’ score, taking 1/42 from his 10 over.
