Arshdeep Singh sends WARNING to selectors ahead of ICC Champions trophy 2025, he is close to THIS record…

Arshdeep Singh is currently the second highest wicket-taker for India in T20Is with 95 wickets in his name. If he manages to bag a five-wicket haul in the upcoming series against England, he will be the first Indian bowler to have over 100 wickets in T20Is. Arshdeep Singh, left-arm pacer, has only two wickets behind Chahal and is on the path to become the highest Indian wicket-taker in T20Is.

Exercise will recommence for Indian cricketers as they prepare for the five-match T20I series against England scheduled to commence from January 22. The squad for the January series is still pending, however, it’s most likely Arshdeep Singh will be among them. During 2024, he got to rub shoulders with some of the greatest cricket players in the world. He is on course to become the first cricketer to reach this T20I achievement. His skills are deeply needed in the Indian squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah due to an injury.

With 95 wickets registered to his name, Arshdeep Singh clocks in as the second-most successful wicket-taker in T20Is for India. If he records a total of 100 wickets by slaying down five more batsman in the series against England then he will be the first Indian player to do so. Notably, he only requires a mere two more wickets to thwart Yuzvendra Chahal and be crowned as the Indian bowler with the highest number of T20I’s.

In 2024, during the T20 World Cup, where he achieved 17 scalps, he propelled his total wickets to 35 which made him India’s highest wicket taker for T20I matches. Arshdeep Singh now stands with a total of 95 wickets needs to secure only 1 more wicket so he can surpass Yuzvendra Chahal. Currently the leader in T20I wickets is Chahal with a total of 96, other prominent bowlers include Bhuvneshwar Kumar (90), Jasprit Bumrah (89), and Hardik Pandya (89).

Arshdeep Singh zusammen with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj is also up for consideration for India’s 2025 Champions Trophy campaign beefing up the pace attack. Out of these three pace bowlers two are to be included in the team alongside Hardik Pandya who is also expected to act as a pace bowler, most probably as a third option. In the case that Arshdeep is unable to playODIs the selectors might use Khaleel Ahmad since he has caught the attention of the team management. Mohammed Shami’s choice will be contingent on his physical conditioning and recovery level as the reports suggest.
