Amrut Distilleries unveiled Expedition, its most seasoned single malt whisky release which has been aged for over 15 years; this whisky comes in an exceptionally rare global release of 75 bottles. According to Amrut, Expedition heights the entire luxury category and exhibits the brand’s ambition to go beyond its typical malts.

Expedition spent the first part of its maturation journey in a Sherry cask for 8 years and another 7 in a US Ex-Bourbon Cask. The whisky developed deep, opulent flavors while the eight-years spent in the sherry cask enhanced complexity and depth in the fifteen-years of bourbon cask aging.

The packaging matches the eight years of maturation complimented with the royal stamp of sophistication like an heirloom. Shipping alone took six months due to the complexity of merging metal to wood. An NFC tag alongside an authentication card is embedded within a silver measurement peg designed by a Bangalore Silversmith. A diamond cut design with elaborate golden engravings sits on the box alongside an individually etched and numbered bottle hidden within each handcrafted box.

The scope of Amrut Expedition's launch is astounding covering regions from India, Singapore, Australia, United States, Dubai, Europe and United Kingdom. While the price does carry a hefty mark, surpassing $10,000, Expedition makes an outstanding entry to the brand’s portfolio. With a staggering 62.8 ABV, Amrut activities venture into new luxury categories while leaving no doubt in quality.

In regard to his statement, Rakshit N Jagdale, who is the managing director of Amrut Distilleries, said this, “Amrut Expedition is not just a whisky, we made it in celebration of our 75 year journey that started with my grandfather, JN RadhaKrishna Rao Jagdale. It is a mark of excellence that he has worked throughout his life for. Every drop of this whisky is aged for 15 years in two exceptional casks that highlight heritage and craftsmanship. With only 75 bottles available worldwide, it is a true collector’s piece crafted to near perfection. Amrut Expedition is not just a whisky it is history in a bottle.”
