3 Idiots: Aamir Khan's Blockbuster Initially Rejected by Superstars

Today, the topic of discussion is one of the best horror movies from Bollywood. This made it secure a place in the list of its favorites at the box office and one of the defining films for the lead male and female actors. Thus, the presence of the film was able to provide competition to many films of 2002, including Devdas that starred Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai that grabbed more than 58 awards. The movie which is under discussion is Vikram Bhatt’s Raaz with Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea in the leading roles.
Raaz was made on a shoe-string budget of Rs 5.25 crore and gave a houseful response with overs fetched more than Rs 30 crore. Besides Devdas, the movie posed a serious threat to other films of 2002 such as Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam, Aankhen, Mujhse Dosti Karoge!, Company, and Deewangee. All the superstars of Bollywood such as Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn have done movies that could not even come close to the collections of a Raaz series.
The public responded cordially to the film and commended Raaz for its good performance and fine narration. One of India’s popular directors Mahesh Bhatt has emerged as a winner of international Indian Film Academy award for the film under the category of the best script-writer. Whereas, Vikram Bhatt bagged the Stardust Award under the dream director segment.
In addition, this movie’s music was pointed out to be composed by the famous music directors of those days, Nadim Saifi and Shravan Rathod. Previously, some of his popular songs like Aapke Pyaar Mein Hum, Jo Bhi Kasmein,Kitna Pyaara Hai, Main Agar Saamne and so on became the songs of the fans.
As reported by TOI, Bipasha was not the first choice for the film Raaz this role was first offered to Bipasha Basu but she rejected the movie and then it was offered to Dino Morea. The Indian actor Anil Kapoor was first approached for playing the character of Dino Morea but he refused to take up the offer. Even actress Lisa Ray was approached to portray Bipasha Basu but she could not do that due to certain issues of her own.
