120 minut tall movie, suspense and thriller,plot focuses on private videos of young girls being exposed, climax will leave you speechless

South Indian cinema has earned immense recognition especially for its captivating suspense thriller movies. The movies tend to revolve around intricate storylines that prompt and hook the audience. Here is one such movie which is based on themes of guilt, revenge and the dire consequences of infringing someone’s privacy. The movie we are talking about is Puriyatha Puthir, which was launched in the year 2017 and casts Gayathrie and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles. 

This awesome piece of art was crafted by Ranjit Jeyakodi which digs deep into social issues such as cyber crime and violating someone’s privacy. The movie is based on a love story between Kathir ,who dreams to be a music director and Meera, his music teacher. However, their love story reaches a spine chilling climax when Kathir receives some degrading videos of Meera which penetrates deep into the skeletons of the closet and unveils some horrific and troublesome memories. 

This was the second time Vijay Sethupathi and S Gayathrie were seen on a screen together, the first time they were together was in Naduvula Konjam Pakatha Kanom. The two actors regardless of the movie achieved great chemistry and the audience enjoyed their partnership. Furthermore, Sam CS has done a great job on the musical score for Vikram Vedha and for this movie. Through the songs, the viewer is always in sync with the characters emotions further deepening the experience.

Additionally, the film was well appreciated for its message and is directed by Ranjit Jeyakodi, as he was well appreciated for doing so. Vijay Sethupathi received high praise for Kathir, a music director caught in a complicated relationship. The plot is engaging and very different from what one would expect from a thriller movie.

In December 2016, the film 'Mellisai' was released but was retitled on October 2016 as it was more suitable for a mystery thriller film as the name was ‘Puriyatha Puthir’ The film was plagued with setbacks during its production, and in the end, the movie was released in 2017.
